Update on Afterschool Program
Alburgh Family Clubhouse, Inc (AFC) has made a difficult decision to postpone launching an Afterschool Program for Prek – Grade 5 children in the Alburgh Community Education Center (ACEC) in this school year.
The ACEC has done a great job implementing guidance that protects the health and well-being of students and teachers during in-person learning while COVID-19 remains a challenge to community health at this time. They’ve developed policies and practices that keep children and teachers safe, while also prioritizing learning and emotional support.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 precautions that are important in keeping all students in ACEC safe and healthy create challenges to providing afterschool services that are fun and engaging, and meet children’s and family’s needs, at a tuition that is affordable for Alburgh’s families.
Our mission has always been, and remains, providing high quality and affordable childcare to the children and families of Alburgh. We fully support ACEC’s priorities in protecting the health and safety of students, teachers, and our community. We will explore opportunities to launch AFC Afterschool Program for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Alburgh Family Clubhouse is a non-profit childcare enrichment and family network center
adjacent to the Alburgh Community Education Center, hoping to open in Spring 2021 or Fall 2020.
The Alburgh Family Clubhouse addresses the urgent need for local childcare, including infant, toddler, pre-school, and after-school programs. The Clubhouse will also help advance educational achievement among underperforming students, as well as provide the community with a variety of valuable parenting resources and support.
